Prior to establishing Room 116 Tutoring, Mary Jo's career was in the field of education for over 23 years. During that time, she has gained specialized training and experience while supporting and advocating for students with many abilities in both elementary and high school settings. Her education, certifications, endorsements, and achievements are:

Yes., a parent or guardian 18 years old and over needs to be present in the home throughout each tutoring session.

How long is a tutoring session?

Each session will range from 60-75 minutes

Room 116 Tutoring services Southwest Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Please email to see if Room 116 Tutoring services your area. Travel rates may apply if the location is outside the above area. Online tutoring is also available.

What happens if the tutoring session needs to be canceled at the last minute?

Communicate with each other immediately. The canceled lesson will be rescheduled to occur within 2 weeks of the canceled date. Please see the cancellation policy below.

If I am a new client can I schedule online or do I need to call for a consult?

New clients will not be able to register for a lesson until a free 30-minute consult over the phone has taken place. Cancellation Policy

Thank you for selecting Room 116 Tutoring as your child’s tutor. Room 116 tutoring is dedicated to giving students the best support available. Consistent attendance increases progress in the instruction that Room 116 Tutoring is providing. Therefore, if a lesson needs to be canceled it is important that communication happens immediately. The canceled lesson will be rescheduled to occur within two weeks of the canceled date. Cancellations without notification will be charged for each unexcused cancellation. If there is need to reschedule a lesson please provide advance notice. Thank you!
